DoD Sustainable Buildings Policy, October 2010 (PDF)

On October 25, DUSD(I&E) released a new DoD policy governing sustainable construction practices for DoD buildings. The new policy specifies the Guiding Principles in the Federal Leadership in High Performance and Sustainable Buildings (HPSB) MOU as the minimum construction and major renovation standard for DoD buildings. Additionally, the policy identifies the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system as the method of choice for third-party certification of DoD buildings.
