National Environmental Policy Act Navy Executive Overview

Course Description

The NEPA Executive Overview is a half-day concise presentation on NEPA and environmental planning responsibilities within DoN. The course focuses on NEPA and its legal and Navy policy requirements, understanding the different levels of analysis and the balance that senior management faces meeting Navy mission requirements while ensuring quality of the NEPA process. Senior military and civilians will learn how to correctly and effectively use staff, interdisciplinary teams and financial resources to streamline their responsibilities and duties under this primary Federal environmental law.

In addition to the regularly scheduled offerings, this course is also presented by sponsor request.

Personnel Eligible

Department of the Navy senior executives, Commanding Officers and senior military leadership, project managers, environmental professionals that manage projects. DoD and other federal agency personnel will be accepted for registration as space allows. This course is required for Naval Civil Engineer Corps Officers Level III PW Certification.

Quota Control

The CECOS Registrar, upon receipt of your quota request, will place you in your class time upon receipt of your registration information. This seminar designed for the DoN Executive (Navy with Marine Corps and others as space permits) is four hours long. As quotas are requested, DoN Executives and their staff are placed in appropriate sessions.
