NEPA Resources
Congress enacted the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 1969 and President Nixon signed it into law on January 1, 1970. Congress enacted NEPA to establish a national policy for the environment, provide for the establishment of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), and for other purposes. Department of Defense Procedures Implementing NEPA
The DOD has established enterprise-wide NEPA implementing procedures that apply to all DOD Components, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works. The enterprise-wide DOD NEPA procedures facilitate coordinated, consistent, predictable, and timely environmental reviews that are consistent across Military Departments.
