What’s New
Nominations for the 2026 DoW Environmental Awards are due by April 24, 2026, using the guidance issued by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Energy, Installations, and Environment. Each Military Service and Defense Agency may submit one nomination for each of the four installation and four individual/team award categories listed in the guidance for accomplishments during the period October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2025. The DoW Environmental Awards have honored installations, teams, and individuals for their outstanding achievements in DoW environmental programs each year since 1962. These efforts directly support mission sustainment by advancing installation resilience, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational readiness.

DoW announced the winners of the 2025 Environmental Awards. The nine winners are:
- Natural Resources Conservation, Large Installation: Hill Air Force Base, Utah
- Environmental Quality, Industrial Installation: Hill Air Force Base, Utah
- Environmental Quality, Overseas Installation: Kadena Air Base, Japan
- Sustainability, Non-Industrial Installation: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida
- Sustainability, Individual/Team: Moody Environmental Management Team, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia
- Environmental Restoration, Installation: Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico
- Cultural Resources Management, Small Installation: Defense Supply Center Richmond, Virginia
- Cultural Resources Management, Individual/Team: 718th Cultural Resources Management Team, Kadena Air Base, Japan
- Environmental Excellence in Weapon Systems Acquisition, Individual/Team: Mr. David J. Asiello, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Environmental Management and Restoration
