Army Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)
The Army Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Program is managed by the BRAC Directorate of the Office of the Deputy Assistance Secretary of the Army for Environment, Safety and Occupational Health within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Installations, Energy and Environment.
The BRAC Directorate is the Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA) Staff proponent for all BRAC related matters to include future BRAC or BRAC-Like Infrastructure initiatives. Responsibilities include management and oversight of the disposal of the remaining excess property at BRAC and selected Non-BRAC Excess Installation sites, planning, programming, resourcing, execution and management of BRAC environmental clean-up and compliance, BRAC operations and maintenance, and oversight of remaining BRAC and NBE installation caretaker staffs.
