NEPA Resources
Congress enacted the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) in 1969 and President Nixon signed it into law on January 1, 1970. Congress enacted NEPA to establish a national policy for the environment, provide for the establishment of the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), and for other purposes. Department of War Procedures Implementing NEPA
The DoW has established enterprise-wide NEPA implementing procedures that apply to all DoW Components, including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Civil Works. The enterprise-wide DoW NEPA procedures facilitate coordinated, consistent, predictable, and timely environmental reviews that are consistent across Military Departments.

All existing DoW Component NEPA regulations that were published in the Code of Federal Regulations have been rescinded and replaced with enterprise-wide DoW NEPA procedures.
