Course Description

The CECOS GIS course is currently being redesigned to better meet the needs of Navy civilian and military personnel (Course availability date TBD). The purpose of the course is to assist the student in development of geospatial thinking skills to support environmental and facilities planning and decision making; also to provide awareness of NAVFAC geospatial standards, processes, and available resources including other GIS training.

Target Audience/Personnel Eligible: NAVFAC and CNIC personnel at all echelons, specifically Program and Project Managers.

Personnel Eligible

Navy Environmental Restoration, Management and Compliance personnel who routinely manage installation restoration data as a basis for decision making. Navy/DoD contractors working in support of Navy Environmental Business Lines (EVBL) may also attend on a space available basis with a personal invitation from a Navy sponsor.

Quota Control

This is a computer-based training course. Attendees are required to possess advanced comprehension of Window OS and MSOffice Suite (*specifically Excel and Access) and should be comfortable working with complex software applications.
