BRAC Summary: Close Fort Monroe, VA. Relocate the US Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Headquarters, the Installation Management Agency (IMA) Northeast Region Headquarters, the US Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) Northeast Region Headquarters and the Army Contracting Agency Northern Region Office to Fort Eustis, VA. Relocate the US Army Accessions Command and US Army Cadet Command to Fort Knox, KY.

Property Description: In addition to the 19th century fortress and other historic features, Fort Monroe was primarily administrative although various light industrial activities are present. Industrial facilities were used for digital photographic processing; grounds and maintenance; mechanical and structural shops; an entomology shop; the Navy’s boat testing and maintenance; and hazardous waste accumulation points. Other functions include housing, a medical/dental clinic, a gas station, auto craft shop and a marina. The Army leased the historic Chamberlin Hotel to a developer and the developer renovated the Hotel into luxury retirement apartments.
