Manassas Family Housing


BRAC Summary: The Manassas / Independent Hill Army Family Housing Site was constructed in 1956 by the U.S. Air Force (on property then owned by the U.S. Marine Corps) to support the adjacent Manassas NIKE missile site. In 1968, the missile site was closed and the property was deeded to the Prince William County School Board. In the early 1970s, the housing site was transferred from Quantico Marine Base to the U.S. Air Force and then again to the Army for use by active duty soldiers stationed at Vint Hill Farms Station The housing site was closed in 1991.

Property Description: The housing site was located on 3.19 acres of land in Independent Hill, Prince William County, VA. It consisted of nine single-family housing units: four two-bedroom units and five three-bedroom units.
