BRAC Summary: The Commission recommends the partial closure and realignment of Fort Meade and Fort Holabird, and the realignment of Fort Devens. The activities of the Criminal Investigation Command (CIDC) currently located at Fort Meade and at Fort Holabird will be realigned to Fort Belvoir.

Property Description: Fort Meade is located about 12 miles southwest of Baltimore in Anne Arundel County, Maryland with the BRAC portion immediately south of the active facility. An AMTRAK line borders the facility on the southeast; Route 175 lies to the northeast, Route 295 to the northwest and the Patuxent River to the south.
