BRAC Summary: The Hermine Army Family Housing Site was constructed in 1959 to support the adjacent NIKE missile battery. In 1974, the missile site was closed and the property excessed. The housing was retained for use by active duty personnel serving in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Kelly Support Facility and Fort Meade provided installation oversight. The housing site was closed in August 1990.

Property Description: The housing site was located on 11.87 acres of land in Hermine, Westmoreland Coun-ty, PA. It consisted of 16 “Capehart”-style single-family, three-bedroom housing units.
